In 1927 the club was formed in Colne and one year later was admitted as a member of the Lancashire R.F.U and the Rugby Football Union.
From its original grounds located at at the site of what used to be called Colne Grammar School in Barrowford Road the club moved to its present ground in 1933.Despite suspending the club activities during the war , in the season 1950 / 51 the club played thirty games with a points total of 578 for and only 47 against. Continued success followed , a new clubhouse was built in 1966.
